PAC-07-A-041-S 01 MAY 07 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with a ground search team, however the ELT signal ceased prior to the ground team finding the source. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.2 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-042-S 01 MAY 07 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP & ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the MAT-SU and Anchorage (ANC) area. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team which searched the Wasilla area with negative results. ANC CAP was then tasked and responded with a search aircraft which was unable to pick up any ELT signals, and found no signs of distress. The ELT subsequently ceased transmissions. The BCV CAP ground team searched for 3.6 hours and claimed no expenses. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 1.6 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-044-S 06 MAY 07 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Sterling area. Kenai (ENA) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft and ground search team that located and silenced the non-distress ELT in a hangar at the Moose River airstrip (Sterling, AK). ENA CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hours and their ground team searched for 1.5 hours claiming $25.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-045-S 10 MAY 07 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT near Kenai. The signal later settled in the Anchorage (ANC) area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft in ANC. Messages were left for the owner but RCC learned that he was out of the country. RCC contacted the ANC police department who sent a patrol officer to help ANC CAP secure the ELT. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 2.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-046-S 10 MAY 07 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Kenai (ENA). ENA CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which localized the ELT to a hangar near Mackey Lake. ENA CAP then responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in a hangared aircraft and secured it. ENA CAP flew one sortie for 0.9 hours and their ground team searched for 2.0 hours claiming $25.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-048-S 11 MAY 07 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Cooper Landing area. Kenai CAP (ENA CAP) was tasked to respond with a search aircraft; however the ELT signal ceased prior to the ENA CAP aircraft becoming airborne. ENA CAP flew no sorties or hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-050-S 17 MAY 07 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks (FAI) area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which localized the non-distress ELT to a hangar on Ladd Army Airfield. Personnel on Ladd Army Airfield were notified and they secured the ELT. FAI CAP flew one sortie for 0.7 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-052-S 23 MAY 07 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the Anchorage (ANC) area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which successfully located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at Merrill Field and secured it. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.6 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-053-S 24 MAY 07 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Big Lake area. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft taxiing on Big Lake. The pilot was contacted who then secured the ELT. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 0.8 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-054-S 25 MAY 07 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the Kasilof area. Kenai (ENA) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which localized the signal to a residential area in Kasilof. ENA CAP then responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress EPIRB in a stored vessel in Kasilof and secured it. The vessel had not been moved for four years but the owner had left the EPIRB in the armed position. ENA CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hours, and their ground team searched for 4.0 hours, claiming $40.04 for fuel expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-055-S 26 MAY 07 (SAR) GULKANA CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Tonsina area. Gulkana (GKN) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which successfully located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at the Tonsina Airstrip and secured it. The GKN CAP ground team searched for 3.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-057-S 26 MAY 07 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the Wasilla area. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which localized the ELT signal to a small airstrip near Wasilla. After making several passes over the two non-distress aircraft parked there, a man walked out of a hangar, climbed into one of the aircraft and the ELT signal ceased. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 1.5 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-07-A-059-S 29 MAY 07 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP & FCC
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near the Iliamna airport. Because of the nature of the signal, the FAA and FCC were asked to investigate what seemed to be an electronics anomaly with the radio equipment in Iliamna. The Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with an aircraft which transported an FCC ground team to Iliamna and located a malfunctioning non-distress ELT in an aircraft at Iliamna airport. ANC CAP flew two sorties for 4.6 hours. The FCC ground team search for 1.8 hours. No credits awarded.
