PAC-06-A-194-S 01 OCT 06 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks (FAI) area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft and a ground search team which located and secured the non-distress ELT in a parked airplane at the FAI international Airport. FAI CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hours, and their ground team searched for 0.8 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-195-S 02 OCT 06 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft at Lake Hood and secured it. The ELT had been accidentally set off while the aircraft was undergoing maintenance. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 2.5 hours with $53.65 claimed for expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-196-S 06 OCT 06 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT located east of Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at ANC International Airport, and secured it. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-199-S 12 OCT 06 (SAR) ELMENDORF CAP & 211 RQS
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Eagle River area. Elmendorf (EDF) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft however they were unable to reach the search area due to poor weather and darkness. The 211 RQS was then tasked and diverted an HC-130 from a training flight. The HC-130 was unable to pick up any ELT signals and found no signs of distress. The ELT subsequently ceased. EDF CAP flew one sortie for 0.4 hours, and the 211 RQS HC-130 flew one sortie for 0.6 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-200-S 13 OCT 06 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks (FAI) area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which located and secured the non-distress ELT in a parked US Army Alaska, C Company/1-52 Aviation UH-60 helicopter at Ft. Wainwright. FAI CAP flew one sortie for 0.8 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-201-S 14 OCT 06 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Birchwood. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft however they were unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. The BCV CAP flew three sorties for 5.6 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-203-S 26 OCT 06 (SAR) 210 RQS & ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to aircraft and SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. The 210 RQS was diverted from a local training flight and responded with an HH-60 helicopter which failed to locate the ELT before it ceased. When the ELT signal resumed the Anchorage Civil Air Patrol (ANC CAP) was then tasked and responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft undergoing maintenance in a hangar at Anchorage International Airport. The 210 RQS flew one sortie for 0.2 hours. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 5.2 hours with no expenses claimed. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-204-S 28 OCT 06 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Wasilla area. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft which localized the ELT to the Big Lake airport transient ramp, but were unable to locate the specific source (aircraft). The ELT subsequently ceased transmissions. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 1.9 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-205-S 31 OCT 06 (SAR) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT located near Bethel (BET). BET CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at the Bethel airport, and secured it. The BET CAP ground team searched for 1.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
