PAC-06-A-009-S 04 FEB 06 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Skwentna area. The Birchwood CAP (BCV CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft. When the search aircraft entered the search area the ELT ceased transmissions. Three SARSAT missed passes were received and the mission was closed. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 3.1 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-010-S 07 FEB 06 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with ground search teams, however they were unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. The ANC CAP ground teams searched for 10.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-011-S 09 FEB 06 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the anchorage area. The Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with ground search teams, however they were unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. The ANC CAP ground teams searched for 6.6 hours and claimed $11.15 for expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-015-S 17 FEB 06 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT in an aircraft at Fairbanks International Airport. The Fairbanks CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-017-A 22 FEB 06 (ASSIST) 210 RQS DET-1, 211 RQS, 212 RQS & FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the AK State Troopers (AST) to search for an overdue hunter in the Huslia area. Fairbanks CAP (FAI CAP) was tasked and responded with two search aircraft. The 210, 211 and 212 RQS were also tasked and responded with an HH-60, HC-130, and pararescuemen (PJ’s), however they were unable to locate the overdue hunter. AST eventually suspended the mission, requiring no further assistance. FAI CAP flew 11 sorties for 38.0 hours. The 210 RQS HH-60 with 212 RQS PJ’s onboard flew two sorties for 9.0 hours. The 211 RQS HC-130 with 212 RQS PJ’s onboard flew three sorties for 12.4 hours. One missing.
PAC-06-A-018-S 22 FEB 06 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT 20 miles S.W. of Skwentna. Anchorage CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft however they were unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. The Anchorage CAP flew two sorties for 3.0 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-06-A-021-S 26 FEB 06 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT 18nm East of Kenai. Kenai CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a hangar near Sterling. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 5.0 hours and claimed $50.00 for fuel expenses. No credits awarded.
