Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt in the eil area. Eil cap was tasked and responded with a ground search team and a search aircraft, however they were unable to locate the source of the elt, which subsequently ceased transmissions. Eil cap flew two sorties for 3.8 hours and their ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt in the ena area. Ena cap was tasked and responded with a ground search team and a search aircraft, however they were unable to locate the source of the elt, which subsequently ceased transmissions. Ena cap flew one sortie for 0.8 hours and their ground team searched for 4.5 hours claiming $57.15 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-062-S 07 MAY 05 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP & AST
Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt in the knik glacier area. Bcv cap was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located an overturned aircraft but could not determine the status of anyone on board. Ast was then tasked and responded with a helicopter, which flew to the crash site but found it was unoccupied, and saw no indication of injuries. The ast helicopter went back out on a second sortie and located the pilot nearly three miles away in a flat open area, and recovered him. He was cold but otherwise uninjured. Bcv cap flew one sortie for 2.2 hrs. Ast flew two sorties for 3.6 hrs. One save awarded.

Bcv cap was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress elt in an aircraft undergoing maintenance and secured it. The bcv cap ground team searched for 0.5 hours, and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-064-S 11 MAY 05 (SAR) VALDEZ CAP
Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt near valdez. Valdez cap was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which localized the signal to the e docks of valdez harbor, but could not locate the source. Uscg d17 responded with a portable tracking gear equipped ground team, which located the non-distress epirb in a vessel and secured it. The valdez cap ground team searched for 3.5 hours, and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-066-A 13 MAY 05 (ASSIST) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to a request from fai ast to search for a person associated with an unattended parasail and helmet. Fai cap was tasked and responded with two searchaircraft. No signs of distress were found and no one was located in the search area. Fai ast subsequently never received any reports of a missing person, and suspended their search effort requiring no further assistance. Fai cap flew two sorties for 7.1 hours. No credits awarded.

Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt near nenana. Fai cap was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located and silenced the non-distress elt. The elt was found in a civilian float plane parked at manley airport (on land). Fai cap flew one sortie for 2.1 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-068-A 22 MAY 05 (ASSIST) KODIAK CAP
Mission opened in response to a request from uscg d17 to search for an emergency beacon in adq. Adq cap was tasked and responded with a ground team. They located the signal coming from the non-distress vessel sierra seas, and determined a personal epirb in a survival suit had accidentally been activated. The cap team secured the epirb and the signal ceased. The adq cap ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-069-S 24 MAY 05 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to sarsat reports of an elt north of ena. Ena cap was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which localized the signal to an aircraft parked outside a private residence east of nikiski. The cap aircrew returned to ena and proceeded back to the residence as a ground search team, and determined that the elt signal was in the private residence itself. A message was left for the owner who later called the rcc and reported that the non-distress elt had been deactivated. Three sarsat missed passes were later received. Ena cap flew one sortie for 1.0 hour, and their ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed $10.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.
