PAC-05-A-032-S 11 MAR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT at Merrill Field (MRI). MRI personnel had been unable to locate the signal and the Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team. MRI tower later reported that the ELT was located by their personnel in a parked acft, non-distress, and deactivated. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-033-S 11 MAR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an EPIRB in the Anchorage area. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team, however, they were unable to locate the source of the EPIRB, which was being sent through the mail to seattle. The EPIRB subsequently ceased transmissions in the Anchorage area, and 11RCC notified USCG District 13 in Seattle. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-036-A 16 MAR 05 (ASSIST) JUNEAU CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from Juneau RCC (USCG D17) to search for an o/d vessel with two people on board (POB) in Chatham Strait south of Juneau. Juneau (JNU) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located one of the POB deceased in the water. A USCG helicopter located the second POB deceased and recovered both of the bodies. JNU RCC required no further assistance and JNU CAP was released from the mission. JNU CAP flew one sortie for 4.6 hours. Two deceased.

PAC-05-A-037-S 19 MAR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP & KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to numerous pilot reports of an ELT in the Sparrevohn area. Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however they were unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. A pilot later called and claimed he had discovered that his ELT had been erantly activated during a flight near Sparrevohn. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 2.7 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-038-S 20 MAR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Palmer area. Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a parked aircraft at the Palmer airport. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 1.2 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-040-S 23 MAR 05 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the Figure Eight Lake area. Birchwood CAP (BCV CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however they were unable to locate any signs of distress, and were unable to locate the ELT which subsequently ceased transmissions. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 1.6 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-041-S 24 MAR 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located and secured the non-distress ELT, in an Air Logistics helicopter that was undergoing maintenance. Fairbanks CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hours. No credits awarded.
