PAC-05-A-004-S 12 JAN 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP (FAI CAP) was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a hangared aircraft at Fairbanks international airport. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 4.2 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-007-A 16 JAN 05 (ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Bethel, to search for an overdue (o/d) snow machiner near Bethel. The missing snow machiner was last seen in Kasigluk and thought to be departing for Napakiak. Bethel CAP was tasked and provided two search aircraft, which had to delay their search mission for one day due to poor weather conditions. The CAP departed the next day and extensively searched the suspected area, with negative results. Bethel AST subsequently found the o/d snow machiner deceased and released Bethel CAP from the mission. Bethel CAP flew two sorties for 8.3 hours. One deceased.

PAC-05-A-008-A 17 JAN 05 (ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to assist in the search of an overdue snowmachiner traveling between Bethel and Columbia Creek. Bethel CAP was tasked to respond with a search aircraft, but did not get airborne due to poor weather. The overdue snowmachiner subsequently self-recovered and the mission was cancelled. No hours or sorties and no credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-009-S 18 JAN 05 (SAR) HOMER CAP
Mission opened in response to civilian reports of an ELT in the Homer area. Homer CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT in a hangar at the Homer airport. The Homer CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-010-S 22 JAN 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage (ANC). The ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at Lake Hood. The ELT was secured followed by three missed passes. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.0 hour and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-011-S 22 JAN 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Big Lake area. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was performing a training exercise in the vicinity and responded by diverting a search aircraft, which localized the non-distress ELT to a parked aircraft undergoing maintainence near Big Lake. The CAP aircrew overflew the aircraft and the ELT signal ceased. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 0.1 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-012-S 22 JAN 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to FAA reports of an ELT Southeast of Fairbanks (FAI). FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which localized the ELT to North Pole. FAI CAP then dispatched a ground search team, which located the ELT in a parked aircraft, which was damaged after a hangar roof collapsed earlier in the day. The ELT was secured and no further FAA reports were received. The FAI CAP logged one sortie for 1.0 hours, the ground team 2.0 hours and claimed $10.00 in expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-014-A 25 JAN 05 (ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the Alaska State Troopers (AST) in Aniak, to search for an overdue snowmachiner near Alakanuk. Bethel CAP was tasked and provided two search aircraft, which extensively searched the entire area with negative results. Aniak AST suspended aerial search efforts, and released Bethel CAP from the mission. Bethel CAP flew 12 sorties for 18.3 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-015-S 27 JAN 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Big Lake. Anchorage CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft east of Big Lake and secured it. Anchorage CAP flew one sortie for 1.4 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-017-S 30 JAN 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Fairbanks (FAI). FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft. The ELT was secured followed by three SARSAT missed passes. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 0.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
