PAC-05-A-045-A 01 APR 05 (ASSIST) KODIAK CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from USCG D17 (JNU RCC) to search for an emergency beacon in ADQ. ADQ CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which was unable to locate the source of the signal. USCG D17 and FAA personnel subsequently determined that the source of the signal was a non-distress FAA transmitter anomaly. The signal ceased, USCG D17 no longer required assistance and the mission was closed. The ADQ CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-046-S 04 APR 05 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Kalgin Island area. USCG D17 assets had narrowed down the ELT location to Carty Field in Kenai. Kenai CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team, which searched the airfield but was unable to hear the ELT, and found no signs of distress. The ELT ceased and three SARSAT missed passes were received. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 3.0 hours and claimed $20.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-047-S 04 APR 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with both ground search teams and a search aircraft, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a hangar at FAI International Airport. FAI CAP flew one sortie for 1.5 hours, and their ground teams search for a total of 7.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-048-S 11 APR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team that was unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed $8.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-049-A 15 APR 05 (ASSIST) 210TH RQS, 211TH RQS, 212TH RQS, & ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from USCG D17 to search Cook Inlet after receiving a MAYDAY call. The 210th, 211th and 212th RQS were tasked and diverted an HC-130 and HH-60 with PJ’s from a training mission. The HC-130 located an overturned kayak near Fire Island. The HH-60 lowered PJ ’s to the kayak but they could not determine whether it was a recent event or an old deserted kayak. No other correlating data was received and the Alaska Air Guard assets continued the search with negative results. ANC CAP was subsequently tasked and responded with a ground team to search for ELT activity near Lake Hood and the ANC International Airport, since a weak ELT had been reported during the mission. The ANC CAP ground team did not pick up any ELT signals. Based on the negative search results, USCG D17 suspended search efforts and no longer required assistance. The 210th RQS HH-60 with 212th RQS PJ’s onboard flew one sortie for 1.5 hours. The 211th RQS HC-130 flew one sortie for 1.8 hours. The ANC CAP ground team search for 0.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-050-S 16 APR 05 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team that was able to localize the source of the ELT to the Chena Marina Airfield, but was unable to locate it. The ELT subsequently ceased transmissions. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 1.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-051-S 19 APR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft that had just undergone maintenance, at the Anchorage International Airport. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.7 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-052-S 21 APR 05 (SAR) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Bethel area. BET CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which was unable to locate the source of the ELT. The ELT signal subsequently ceased transmissions. The BET CAP ground team searched for 1.0 hour and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-053-S 23 APR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which localized the signal to ANC International Airport, but was unable to locate the source. The ELT subsequently ceased transmissions. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 5.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-054-A 28 APR 05 (ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from BET AST to search for two o/d snowmachiners near BET. BET CAP was tasked and responded with two search aircraft, which extensively searched the entire area over a three-day period and found the missing snowmachiners northwest of BET. A BET AST aircraft was directed to the location and recovered the survivors. The snowmachiners were in good condition and were flown back to bet. BET CAP flew five sorties for 16.7 hours. Two saves awarded.

PAC-05-A-055-S 30 APR 05 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Birchwood area that was also heard by multiple aircraft in the Anchorage bowl. BCV CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team, which located and silenced the source of the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at BCV Airport. The BCV CAP ground team searched for 0.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-05-A-056-S 30 APR 05 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Wasilla area. ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at Wasilla airport. 11RCC contacted the owner and the ELT was silenced. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 1.5 hours. No credits awarded.
