PAC-04-A-205-A 21 SEP 04 (ASSIST) JUNEAU CAP & AASF-JUNEAU
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from RCC Juneau (JNU) to search for an overdue aircraft traveling from Sitka to Baranof. JNU CAP was tasked and responded with search aircraft. Later, AASF-JNU was also tasked and responded with a UH-60 helicopter. After a thorough search including USCG assets, RCC JNU suspended their search, following negative results. The AASF-JNU UH-60 flew one sortie for 3.4 hours. JNU CAP flew 19 sorties for 64.0 hours. Five missing.

PAC-04-A-214-S 02 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to ELT reports from Merrill Field tower. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at the CAP hangar. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-217-S 08 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a privately owned truck at ANC International Airport and secured it. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 2.5 hours, and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-220-A 17 OCT 04 (ASSIST) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the USCG Juneau RCC to investigate a report of camping/hunting debris floating in the water in Surprise Cove, 9nm east of Whittier. The Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft. A USCG HH-60J helicopter located a distressed hunter one nm south of the debris, after his boat was swamped. The hunter declined assistance and family members were contacted, who made arrangements to have the hunter picked up. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 3.1 hours. One located awarded.

PAC-04-A-221-S 19 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP / 210TH RQS / 212TH RQS
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Anchorage area. The 210th RQS and 212th RQS were tasked and responded with an HH-60 and pararescuemen. The Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was also tasked and responded with a ground team. The ANC CAP located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a hangered helicopter at Lake Hood Seaplane Base in ANC. The 210th RQS HH-60 and the 212th RQS pararescue team each flew one sortie for 0.7 hours. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.9 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded

PAC-04-A-222-S 21 OCT 04 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Soldotna area. Kenai CAP (ENA CAP) responded with a ground team, which located a non-distress EPIRB at a Longmere Lake residence, which had been inadvertently set off by the owner. The EPIRB was silenced and three SARSAT missed passes were received. The ENA CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed $20.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-223-S 25 OCT 04 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Fairbanks (FAI). FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at FAI Int’l Airport and secured it. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours, and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-224-S 26 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located the non-distress ELT in a parked Saab-340 at Penair. The ELT was secured followed by three SARSAT missed passes. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-225-S 29 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to a call from Anchorage (ANC) Center informing RCC that ANC Tower was receiving a strong ELT signal. SARSAT reports of an emergency beacon in the ANC area were subsequently received at RCC. ANC Airport Safety and ANC CAP were tasked and both responded with a ground teams. ANC Airport Safety located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft at Lake Hood Airport and secured it. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-226-S 31 OCT 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team which conducted a search of the area, but the ELT ceased before being located. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 4.5 hours and claimed $12.39 for expenses. No credits awarded.
