PAC-04-A-228-A 09 NOV 04 (ASSIST) KODIAK CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the USCG Juneau RCC to search for an ELT in Kodiak. The Kodiak CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a pick up truck, and secured it. The Kodiak CAP ground team searched for 4.5 hours and claimed $25.00 in expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-230-A 13 NOV 04 (ASSIST) JUNEAU CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the USCG D-17 RCC, to search for an ELT near Haines. Juneau (JNU) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which searched the assigned area with negative results. The JNU CAP flight was forced to return to base due to poor weather and the mission was closed. The mission was re-opened at the request of the USCG D-17 RCC after they determined that the ELT signal was from an EPIRB from a vessel that sank near Gustavus. JNU CAP was retasked and responded with a search aircraft to search for the EPIRB that had separated from the vessel. The JNU CAP was unable to locate the EPIRB, which was later found and secured by a USCG cutter. JNU CAP flew two sorties for 3.4 hours. No credits awards.

PAC-04-A-232-S 19 NOV 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked DHC-6 at the Era hangar. ELT secured followed by three SARSAT missed passes. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 0.7 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-233-S 19 NOV 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team. The signal was heard in the Lake Hood area, but ceased prior to being located. Three SARSAT missed passes were received. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 2.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-234-S 21 NOV 04 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Blair Lakes. Eielson CAP (EIL CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft and subsequently a ground search team which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in a hangered helicopter at Metro Airport. EIL CAP flew two sorties for 1.6 hours and their ground team searched for .5 hours claiming $30.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-239-S 27 NOV 04 (SAR) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Bethel area. Bethel CAP (BET CAP) was tasked and responded with a ground search team which located and silenced the non-distress ELT, in an aircraft at the Bethel airport. The BET CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-240-S 27 NOV 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Anchorage. The ELT resolved its position to the Westchester Lagoon area of Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team, which searched but were unable to locate the source of the ELT. The signal subsequently ceased and three SARSAT missed passes were received. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 4.0 hours and claimed $12.00 in expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-241-A 27 NOV 04 (ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the AK State Troopers (AST) in Kotzebue to search for three overdue snowmachiners, between Kivalina and Noatak. Kotzebue (OTZ) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft. The CAP aircraft was unable to locate the overdue snowmachiners due to darkness and returned home. A Noatak SAR ground team was alerted to the position of the third snowmachiner early the next morning when the other two overdues self-recovered. The ground team quickly recovered the third overdue that was suffering from frostbite. The OTZ CAP flew one sortie for 2.5 hours. One save awarded.

PAC-04-A-242-S 29 NOV 04 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Upper Fire Lake (Birchwood area). Birchwood CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, and subsequently one airplane; each searched with negative results. The ELT ceased during the air search. Three SARSAT missed passes were received. Birchwood CAP flew one sortie for 1.3 hours, and their ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
