PAC-04-A-093-S 04 JUN 04 (SAR) JUNEAU CAP
Mission opened in response to request for assistance from Juneau RCC (USCG D17) to search for an ELT in the Juneau (JNU) area. JNU CAP was tasked, however they determined they could not assist since their equipment could not track a 243.0 mhz beacon. JNU RCC cancelled their request for assistance. JNU CAP flew no sorties or hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-094-S 04 JUN 04 (SAR) SEWARD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in Seward. Seward (SWD) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located and silenced the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at the SWD airport. The SWD CAP ground team searched for 0.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-095-S 04 JUN 04 (SAR) ELMENDORF CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Lake Clark. Elmendorf (EDF) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however the ELT ceased shortly after the CAP aircraft departed on the search. Three SARSAT missed passes were received and the mission was closed. EDF CAP flew one sortie for 0.3 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-096-S 05 JUN 04 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to FAA and aircraft reports of an ELT on near Fairbanks (FAI). FAI CAP was tasked and diverted a search aircraft from a training flight. The CAP aircrew localized the ELT to the Chena Marina Airport, where a FAI CAP ground team then located the non-distress ELT in a hangared aircraft, and silenced it. FAI CAP flew one sortie for 1.1 hours and their ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed $25.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-097-S 06 JUN 04 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near soldotna. Kenai (ENA) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which searched with negative results. ELT signal subsequently ceased and three SARSAT missed passes were received. The ENA CAP ground team searched for 0.8 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-098-S 07 JUN 04 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Palmer. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at Wolf Lake. The CAP aircrew could not secure the ELT so 11RCC contacted the aircraft’s owner, who then secured the ELT. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hour. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-099-S 07 JUN 04 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Fairbanks (FAI). FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which was unable to locate the ELT. The ELT signal ceased and three SARSAT missed passes were received. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 3.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-100-A 08 JUN 04 (ASSIST) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the AK State Troopers (AST) in Fairbanks (FAI). They were involved in a search for an overdue 20 year old female hiker in the Granite Tors area, who had failed to return from a day hike. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with multiple search aircraft, which searched for several days. The overdue hiker was located and recovered by an AST ground team on the second day of the search. She was weak, dehydrated and suffered from exposure to the elements. FAI CAP flew three sorties for 9.6 hours. One save awarded.

PAC-04-A-101-S 11 JUN 04 (SAR) SEWARD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Tustumena Lake. Seward (SWD) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however the ELT signal ceased shortly after the CAP aircraft arrived on scene. SWD CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hour. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-102-S 14 JUN 04 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Birchwood area. Birchwood CAP (BCV CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft followed by a ground search team which located and silenced the non-distress ELT in a hangered airplane at BCV airport. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 1.0 hours and their ground team searched for 1.0 hours claiming $35.00 for expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-103-S 14 JUN 04 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to aircraft reports of an ELT near Tyonek. Birchwood (BCV) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however the aircrew was unable to locate the source of the ELT, which subsequently ceased transmissions. No signs of distress were found and the mission was closed. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 2.0 hours. No credits awarded

PAC-04-A-104-S 16 JUN 04 (SAR) KENAI CAP & FCC
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Kenai. Kenai (ENA) CAP was tasked and responded with two search aircraft and two ground search teams, but they were unable to locate the ELT. The FCC was then tasked and responded with a ground team. The FCC ground team was also unable to locate the ELT, which subsequently ceased with three SARSAT missed passes. ENA CAP flew two sorties for 3.8 hours and their ground teams searched for 2.5 hours and claimed no expenses. The FCC ground team searched for 2.0. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-106-S 20 JUN 04 (SAR) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Dillingham. Bethel (BET) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which search the area with negative results. The Dillingham Airport manager subsequently located the non-distress EPIRB in a vehicle and secured it. BET CAP flew two sorties for 3.8 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-107-S 20 JUN 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the vicinity of Beluga. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, however the ELT ceased before the CAP aircraft could locate the signal. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 2.3 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-108-S 22 JUN 04 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP & AK STATE TROOPERS
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Tonsina area. Birchwood CAP (BCV CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which localized the ELT to a small airstrip near Pippin Lake, but could not land there due to the short runway. The AK State Troopers (AST) were tasked and responded with a ground team, which located three aircraft but could not determine which were the source of the ELT. The ELT subsequently ceased with three SARSAT missed passes. BCV CAP flew one sortie for 4.0 hours and the ast ground team searched for 1.5 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-109-A 23 JUN 04 (ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the AK State Troopers (AST) in Kotzebue to search for a distressed person adrift in a boat in Eschscoltz Bay. Kotzebue (OTZ) CAP was tasked and responded with several search aircraft, which extensively searched the area with negative results. An AST ground search team located the distressed person the following day, deceased on the beach. OTZ CAP flew two sorties for 8.3 hours. One deceased awarded

PAC-04-A-110-A 24 JUN 04 (ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to a request for assistance from the AK State Troopers in Kotzebue (OTZ) to search for an overdue skiff with four occupants near Selawik. OTZ CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the occupants at a shelter cabin. They were waiting for weather to improve and confirmed via radio that they required no assistance. OTZ CAP flew one sortie for 1.8 hours. Four located awarded.

PAC-04-A-112-S 25 JUN 04 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks (FAI) area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with two search aircraft, but were unable to locate the ELT. FAI CAP then responded with a ground search team, which located and secured the non-distress ELT in a parked helicopter at the FAI Airport. FAI CAP flew two sorties for 2.1 hours and their ground team searched for 0.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-113-S 26 JUN 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to aircraft and SARSAT reports of an ELT 30 miles n.w. of Anchorage (ANC). ANC CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the non-distress ELT in a floatplane moored at Sucker Lake. The CAP aircrew contacted the owners of the plane, who then secured the errant ELT. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 1.6 hours. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-114-S 26 JUN 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to FAA reports of a forest fire caused by an aircraft crash north of Talkeetna. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the crash site and corresponding fire. The CAP aircrew reported that a Forest Service helicopter and fire fighters were also on scene fighting the fire and took control of the crash site. The AK State Troopers and Forest Service located the pilot deceased and required no further assistance. ANC CAP flew one sortie for 1.6 hours. One deceased awarded.

PAC-04-A-116-S 27 JUN 04 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Kenai. Kenai (ENA) CAP was tasked and responded with a search aircraft and ground search team, which located the non-distress EPIRB in an anchored fishing vessel and secured it. ENA CAP flew one sortie for 0.7 hours and their ground team searched for 4.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.

PAC-04-A-117-S 29 JUN 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in anchorage. Anchorage (ANC) CAP was tasked and responded with a ground team, which located and secured the non-distress ELT in a parked 210th RQS HH-60 helicopter at Kulis ANGB. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
