PAC-04-A-016-S 11 FEB 04 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks (FAI) area. FAI CAP was tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress ELT in a parked aircraft at FAI International Airport and secured it. The FAI CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No credits awarded.
PAC-04-A-017-S 12 FEB 04 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to SARSAT reports of an ELT near Circle City. Eielson CAP (EIL CAP) was tasked and responded with a search aircraft, which located the non-distress ELT in an aircraft parked near a remote cabin. The aircraft’s owner secured the ELT and the EIL CAP aircraft returned to base. EIL CAP flew one sortie for 3.6 hours. No credits awarded.
PAC-04-A-018-S 24 FEB 04 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP & AK STATE TROOPERS
Mission opened in response to aircraft and SARSAT reports of an emergency beacon in the Girdwood area. An AK State Trooper (AST) ground team was tasked and was unable to locate any signs of distress in the area. Anchorage CAP (ANC CAP) was then tasked and responded with a ground search team, which located the non-distress emergency beacon in a Girdwood residence and had the owner silence it. The AST ground team searched for 2.5 hours and claimed no expenses. The ANC CAP ground team searched for 3.8 hours and claimed $6.25 for fuel expenses. No credits awarded.
