Mission opened in response to a composite SARSAT and aircraft reports of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. An ELT was located at Fort Wainwright, non-distress, and silenced. RCC continued receiving SARSAT reports and Fairbanks CAP was tasked with the search. The Fairbanks CAP launched a ground team and later in the search, an aircraft with negative results. RCC received three missed passes. The Fairbanks CAP flew 1 sortie for 0.4 hours and the ground team searched for 0.4 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to composite ELT reports in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team to search. The ELT was located in a private residence, non-distress, and silenced. Three missed passes were received. The Polaris CAP searched for 5.5 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.
99-039 15 March 99 (AST Assist) Bethel CAP
Mission opened in response to a request from the AST to search for two overdue snowmobilers traveling from Chevak to Bethel. The Bethel CAP launched several aircraft but the operation was suspended due to bad weather. AST discovered that both men self-recovered to the village of Nunakpitchuk with no injuries. The Bethel CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.8 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a request from the AST to search for an overdue snowmobiler traveling from Togiak to Goodnews Bay. The Bethel CAP was tasked and launched a search aircraft. The Bethel CAP located the individual and guided a Goodnews Bay ground search team to his location. The, in turn, led the disoriented snowmobiler to Togiak. The Bethel CAP flew 2 sorties for 4.7 hours. One save was awarded.

Mission opened in response to a request from the AST to search for an overdue snowmobiler traveling from Tuntutuliak to Kwikillingok. The Bethel CAP was tasked and launched a search aircraft. An AST ground team located the individual. The Bethel CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.8 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.
99-043 17 March 99 (AST Assist) Homer CAP / 210 RQS
Mission opened in response to a request from the AST to search for two overdue snowmobilers. Both the Homer CAP and 210th RQS were tasked to search. However, the individuals self-recovered prior to either asset getting airborne. Therefore, no sorties or hours were expended and no saves or assists were awarded.

99-047 21 March 99 (AST Assist) Birchwood CAP
Mission opened in response to a request from the AST to search for an overdue snowmobiler. He was traveling from Deshka with a group of 50 snowmobilers but did not make it to the final destination. The Birchwood CAP was airborne on a training mission; they were tasked and diverted to the area to search. Shortly after the mission opened, RCC was notified by the AST that the individual had been located. The Birchwood CAP flew 1 sortie for 0.3 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to an n ALNOT issued for an overdue aircraft by Kenai FSS. The pilot opened a flight plan for a round trip to Birchwood. The Birchwood CAP was tasked to search the airfield. Further investigation led RCC to the overdue’s brother. The overdue was located at a hockey game, non-distress. He had forgotten to close his flight plan and he had parked his aircraft elsewhere. Shortly after, the pilot contacted the FSS and closed his flight plan. The ALNOT was cancelled. The Birchwood CAP searched for 1.0 hour. No saves or assists were awarded.
