99-001 10 January 99 (Search) Homer CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Homer area. The Homer CAP launched a ground team. They located the ELT in a Piper Twin Apache inside of a hangar. The aircraft owner authorized the CAP secure the ELT and three missed passes were received. The Homer CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-003 14 January 99 (Search) Fairbanks CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Fairbanks area. The Fairbanks CAP launched a ground team, but the ELT ceased and three missed passes were received. The Fairbanks CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-004 19 January 99 (AST Assist) Kotzebue CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to search for an overdue snowmobiler last seen traveling from Point Hope to Cape Thompson. The Kotzebue CAP responded and flew 10 sorties for 26.7 hours. The overdue was located deceased by a ground party. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-005 17 January 99 (Search) Polaris CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. The CAP located the ELT but the aircraft was locked and they were unable to locate the owner. Three missed passes were received and the mission was closed. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 0.7 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-006 19 January 99 (Search) Kenai/Birchwood/Anchorage/Homer CAP
Mission opened in response to an overdue aircraft report from Anchorage Center. The aircraft was on a flight plan from Homer to Birchwood and the flight plan was not closed. Several CAP ground teams launched and searched all applicable airfields. The Birchwood CAP located the aircraft on the ground in Birchwood, non-distress. The CAP ground teams searched for 2.4 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-007 21 January 99 (Search) Fairbanks CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Fairbanks area. The Fairbanks CAP launched a ground team but the ELT ceased and three missed passes were received. The Fairbanks CAP ground team searched for 0.7 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-010 24 January 99 (Search) Kenai CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT in the Soldotna area. The Kenai CAP responded with a ground team. They located the ELT on a C-172 parked at the Soldotna airport. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 1.3 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-011 25 January 99 (AST Assist) Polaris CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to search for an over due snowmobiler last seen in the Chelatna Lake area. The Polaris CAP launched an aircraft, but due to bad weather they had to return to base. The overdue was located by a charter service who directed other snowmachiners to his location. The Polaris CAP flew 1 sortie for 2.3 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

99-013 29 January 99 (Search) Polaris CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. The CAP located the ELT in a Beaver that belonged to Beluga Air. Airport Security and the CAP secured the ELT. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 0.8 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.
