98-394 01 December 98 (USCG Assist) Juneau CAP
Mission opened in resonse to a request by the Juenau RCC to assist in the delivering of two SAR Dog teams to Hoonah. The dogs were needed to assist in searching for an overdue 16 years old male. The Juneau CAP responded and completed the mission. The Juneau CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.4 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-395 01 December 98 (AST Assist) Seward CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to search for two overdue hikers in the Seward area. The Seward CAP responsded and launched an aircraft. The CAP locateed the overdue hikers and directed an AST helo to their location. The troopers transported them to safety. The Seward CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.4 hours. Two Saves were awarded.

98-396 01 December 98 (Search) Polaris CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. The CAP located the ELT on a Fish and Wildlife aircraft at Lake Hood. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 1.3 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-397 03 December 98 (Search) Kenai CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite EPIRB report in the Kenai area. The Kenai CAP grond team responded and searched the Kenai harbor area. The ground team did not pick up the signal and three missed passes were received. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 1.5 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite EPIRB in the Kenai area. The Kenai CAP ground team responded and located the EPIRB in a fishing vessel. The EPIRB was secured and three missed passes were received. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 1.7 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-399 08 December 98 (Search) Bethel CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT in the Grayling area. The Bethel CAP responded and launched an aircraft. While the CAP was en route the Grayling Village Volunteers located the ELT in an aircraft parked at the strip. The Bethel CAP flew 1 sortie for 3.2 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-400 08 December 98 (Search) Birchwood CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT in the Birchwood area. The Birchwood CAP responded and launched a ground team. They located the ELY at the Birchwood strip in an aircraft. They secured the ELT and three missed passes were received. The Birchwood CAP searched for 0.5 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Birchwood area. The Birchwood CAP responded and launched a ground team. They located the ELT at the Birchwood strip in an aircraft. The secured the ELT and three missed passes were received. The Birchwood CAP searched for 1.1 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-402 10 December 98 (AST Assist) Kotzebue CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to search for an overdue snowmobiler last seen traveling from Kotzebue to Buckland. The Kotzebue CAP responded and located the overdue at the mouth of the Buckalnd River where his snowmachine overturned. The CAP directed a ground team to the area to assist the overdue. The OTZ CAP flew 2 sorties for 3.0 hours. One Save was awarded.

98-403 15 December 98 (Search) Eielson CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Fairbanks area. The Eielson CAP responded and launched an aircraft. The CAP conducted an extensive search but nothing was found. Three missed passes wee received and the mission was closed. The Eielson CAP flew 1 sortie for 2.0 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-405 16 December 98 (Search) Kenai CAP
Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Kenai/Homer area. The Kenai CAP ground team responded and located the ELT at the Fish and Wildlife office in Kenai. The ELT was secured and three missed passes were received. The Kenai CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. While the CAP was searching, the ELT ceased and three missed passes were received. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Gulkana area. The Gulkana CAP launched a ground team. The CAP located the ELT in Gakona. The ELT was secured and three missed passes were received. The Gulkana CAP ground team for 1.5 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. While searching, the ELT ceased and three missed passes were received. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 0.8 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

98-410 20 December 98 (Medevac) 210th RQS / Bethel CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to medevac a female accident victim. The 210th RQS launched both a helo and HC-130. The Air National Gurad transported the patient to the Bethel Hospital. The Bethel CAP also launched a ground team which provided support for the 210th. They did not claim any hours. The 210th RQS flew 4 sorties for 12.8 hours. One save was awarded.

98-411 20 December 98 (AST Assist) Kotzebue CAP
Mission opened in response to a request by the Alaska State Troopers to search for an overdue snowmobiler and two family members. The Kotzebue CAP responded and launched two aircraft to search. They located the overdue 15 miles south of Kotzebue with sled problems. The CAP diverted a snowmachine to their location for assistance. The OTZ CAP flew 2 sorties for 1.4 hours. Three assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Anchorage area. The Polaris CAP launched a ground team. They located the ELT in a parked DHC-2 at Lake Hood. The ELT was silenced and three missed passes were received. The Polaris CAP ground team searched for 1.0 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.

Mission opened in response to a composite ELT report in the Seward area. The Seward CAP responded and launched a ground team. While CAP was searching, the ELT ceased and three missed passes were received. The Seward CAP ground team searched for 0.8 hours. No saves or assists were awarded.
