MSN 063 2 Apr 97 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Eielson CAP was tasked to conduct a ground search and located the ELT in a parked aircraft at Nelsons Airstrip. Eielson CAP searched for 5.0 hours and claimed $20 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 066 3 Apr 97 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Eielson CAP was tasked to conduct a ground search and prior to launching, the ELT ceased. Eielson CAP did not launch a resource. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 067 3 Apr 97 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Birchwood area. BIRCHWOOD CAP was tasked to conduct a ground search and was unable to locate the source of the ELT signal. RCC received 3 missed passes and closed the mission. Birchwood CAP searched for1.0 hour and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.

Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Anchorage area. Polaris CAP was tasked to conduct a ground search and located the ELT in a pawn shop. Polaris CAP searched for 2.5 hours and claimed $10 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 071 6 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmobiler. Bethel CAP was tasked to conduct a search and shortly after launching, the overdue was located by a ground team. Bethel CAP flew 1 sortie for 0.6 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS awarded.
MSN 072 7 Apr 97 (SAR) AAOF #1 and BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Bethel area. Bethel CAP was tasked to conduct a search and located a person with a disable snowmachine approximately 70 miles from Bethel. AAOF #1 was tasked to launch and recover the person; however, after arriving on scene, a ground team arrived and agreed to get the individual home. Bethel CAP flew 3 sorties for 10.2 hours. AAOF #1 flew 1 sortie for 2.0 hours. ONE ASSIST was awarded.
MSN 073 7 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) 210 RQS and HOMER CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for 3 overdue snowmobilers. Homer CAP launched an aircraft and located the 3 snowmobilers and 210th RQS was tasked to transport the individuals. The snowmobilers were extracted and in satisfactory condition. 210 RQS flew 1 sortie for 2.2 hours. Homer CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.0 hour. THREE SAVES were awarded.

Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Anchorage area. Polaris CAP was tasked to conduct a ground search and located the ELT in a hangar at Lake Hood. Polaris CAP searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 076 9 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmachiner near Goodnews Bay. Bethel CAP searched and was unable to locate the individual prior to his self-recovery. Bethel CAP flew 1 sortie for 3.5 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 077 10 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmachiner en route from Selawik to Squirrel River. Kotzebue CAP located the individual and transported him home uninjured. Kotzebue CAP flew 5 sorties for 3.2 hours. ONE SAVE awarded for this mission.

Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP conducted a search; however, the ELT ceased prior to being located. Fairbanks CAP flew 1 sortie for 0.8 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.

Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Anchorage area. Anchorage CAP conducted a search and located the ELT in a Supercub at Merrill Field. Anchorage CAP searched for 0.4 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 083 12 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmobiler between Bethel and Nightmute. The Bethel CAP was tasked to search and while searching, the overdue snowmachiner self-recovered. Bethel CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.6 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 084 13 Apr 97 (SAR) POLARIS CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Talkeetna area. Polaris CAP diverted from a training mission and tracked the signal to Skwentna airstrip. While over-flying the airstrip, the signal ceased. Polaris CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.5 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 086 16 Apr 97 (SAR) BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Wasilla area. The Birchwood CAP was tasked to conduct the search and located the ELT at Big Lake airstrip. Birchwood CAP searched for 1.3 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 087 17 Apr 97 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Fairbanks area. The Eielson CAP was tasked to conduct the search and were unable to fly due to strong winds. However, the ELT ceased and RCC closed the mission prior to launching an asset. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.

Mission opened to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmobiler between Nome and Wales. The Kotzebue CAP was tasked to search and located the snowmobiler at a cabin, non-distress. The Kotzebue CAP flew 5 sorties fro 5.2 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 091 24 Apr 97 (SAR) 210 RQS and POLARIS CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Anchorage area. The 210th RQS and Polaris Cap was tasked to conduct the search and located the ELT onboard a C-130 at Elmendorf AFB. The 210th RQS flew 1 sortie for 1.7 hours. Polaris CAP searched for 3.5 hours and claimed $10 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.

Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP conducted a search, however, the ELT ceased prior to being located. Fairbanks CAP searched for 1.9 huors and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 094 24 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) SEWARD CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue hiker near Seward. The Seward CAP was tasked to conduct the search and was unable to locate the missing individual. AST no longer required assistance and close the mission. The Seward CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.7 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 095 26 Apr 97 (SAR) EIELSON CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in th Fairbanks area. Eielson CAP was tasked to respond and located the signal coming from a parked aircraft at a local airstrip. Eielson CAP searched for 2.0 hours and claimed $13.94 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 096 26 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for an overdue snowmobiler between Lane River and Espenberg. Kotzebue CAP launched an aircraft and located the snowmobiler who was then recovered to his village. Kotzebue CAP flew 3 sorties for 2.5 hours. ONE SAVE was awarded for this mission.
MSN 097 26 Apr 97 (SAR) ELMENDORF CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Ruth Glacier area. Elmendorf CAP was conducting a local training flight and diverted to the search area, however, the ELT ceased and RCC closed the mission. Elmendorf CAP flew 1 sortie for 2.1 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 098 28 Apr 97 (SAR) KENAI CAP
Mission opened in response to an ELT in the Kenai area. Kenai CAP conducted a ground search and while searching, the ELT ceased. RCC closed the mission and Kenai CAP returned to base. Kenai CAP searched for 1.2 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 099 30 Apr 97 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened in response to an AST request to search for 5 overdue snowmachiners in the Kivalina area. Kotzebue CAP was tasked to conduct a search and while searching, the snowmachiners were located by a ground team near Cape Thompson. Kotzebue CAP flew 2 sorties for 3.4 hours. THREE ASSISTS were awarded to Kotzebue CAP for bringing fuel to three of the stranded snowmachiners.
