MSN 102 1 May 96 (SAR) Polaris CAP
Mission opened to a crashed aircraft sighting. Polaris CAP launched an aircraft and while searching, RCC discovered the crash to be an old crash site. Polaris CAP located the wreckage and verified it to be old wreckage. Polaris CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.6 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Bethel area. Bethel CAP responded and located the ELT at Bethel Airport. Bethel CAP searched for 0.9 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Eielson CAP responded and located the ELT in a helicopter at the Fairbanks Airport. Eielson CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.0 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 106 3 May 96 (SAR) POLARIS CAP and BETHEL CAP
Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Kenai area. Bethel CAP was in the area and tracked the ELT to Omalley. The Polaris CAP sent out a ground team which located the ELT in a parked car. Bethel CAP flew 3 sorties for 5.9 hours and the Polaris CAP searched for 1.5 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.
MSN 109 5 May 96 (SAR) POLARIS CAP
Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Anchorage area. Polaris CAP responded but the ELT ceased while they searched. Polaris CAP searched for 3.6 hours and claimed $14.50 in expenses. No SAVES and ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Kenai area. Kenai CAP responded and located the ELT at the Soldotna airport. Kenai CAP searched for 0.4 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Anchorage area. 210th RQS located the ELT at Merrill Field and a Polaris CAP ground team turned it off. 210th RQS flew 1 sortie for 0.7 hours and Polaris CAP searched for 0.2 hours and claimed no expenses. Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Eagle River area. Birchwood CAP responded and tracked the ELT to an area on Hiland Road. Birchwood CAP sent out a ground team to continue the search and while searching, RCC received 3 missed passes. Birchwood CAP flew 1 sortie for 2.3 hours and Birchwood CAP ground team searched for 2.0 hours claiming no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Kenai area. Birchwood CAP responded and located the ELT near some boats. A Kenai ground team turned it off. Kenai CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.8 hours and Kenai ground team searched for 3.0 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 116 11 May 96 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened to assist the Kotzebue AST in MEDVACing a heart patient from Little Noatak River to Kotzebue. Kotzebue CAP flew a C-185 to the location but were unable to land. A volunteer Supercub in the area volunteered to fly the patient while the CAP monitored his actions. Kotzebue CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.5 hours. ONE ASSIST was awarded for this mission.

Mission opened to locate an overdue aircraft en route from Lake Clark to Anchorage. Kenai CAP launched an aircraft but while searching, the overdue was located safely in Anchorage. Kenai CAP flew 2 sorties for 3.9 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the srouce of an ELT in the Fairbanks area. Eielson CAP responded and located the ELT. The ELT had a faulty switch and the ground team assisted the owner in deactivating it. Eielson CAP searched for 2.0 hours and claimed $5.00 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate an overdue homesteader in the Kelly River area. The Kotzebue CAP responded but was unable to locate the missing person. Kotzebue CAP flew 43 sorties for 45.8 hours. Mission suspended by Alaska State Troopers. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate an overdue hiker in the Fairbanks area. Fairbanks CAP responded and with the assistance of the Army AVN Unit, located the overdue hiker. Fairbanks CAP flew 2 sorties for 3.5 hours and the ground team searched for 9.0 hours and claimed $30.00 in expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the srouce of an overdue boater off the coast of Nome. Nome CAP was tasked and while searching, the boater was reported safe. Coast Guard terminated the mission and all aircraft returned to base. Nome CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.4 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.

Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the Kotzebue area. Kotzebue CAP responded and located an overturned PA-18. The pilot taxied in to a hole and damaged his prop. Kotzebue CAP flew 2 sorties for 2.4 hours. ONE SAVE was awarded for this mission.
MSN 138 26 May 96 (SAR) NOME CAP
Mission opened to locate 3 overdue snowmobilers in the Port Clarence – Brevik Mission area. Nome CAP searched for 3.0 hours and was unable to locate the overdue people. AST located the snowmobilers and closed the mission. Nome CAP flew 2 sorties for 3.0 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 139 27 May 96 (AST ASSIST) GULKANA CAP
Mission opened to locate an overturned boater north of the Gulkana River bridge with two people stranded on a sandbar. AST requested a CAP aircraft fly and get a status report. The CAP aircraft found that the personnel had been recovered and were on the side of the highway by a fire. Gulkana CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.0 hour. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
