MSN 001 5 Jan 96 (AST ASSIST) TOK CAP
Mission opened to assist the AST in investigating a flare sighting. Tok CAP was tasked to respond and did not find any signs of distress. AST closed the case and required no further assistance. Tok CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.5 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 004 16 Jan 96 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened to assist the AST in locating an overdue snowmobiler. The Kotzebue CAP responded and while searching, the snowmobiler was located in Buckland. The Kotzebue CAP flew 1 sortie for 2.3 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 006 19 Jan 96 (AST ASSIST) KOTZEBUE CAP
Mission opened to assist the AST in locating an overdue snowmobiler. The Kotzebue CAP responded and located the overdue person with a broken leg and ribs. The Kotzebue CAP flew 6 sorties for 10.2 hours. ONE SAVE awarded for this mission.
MSN 007 20 Jan 96 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP and BIRCHWOOD CAP
Mission opened to locate the srouce of an ELT in the Wasilla area. Polaris CAP launched an aircraft which tracked the ELT to Lake Wasilla. Birchwood CAP was then tasked to locate the ELT and shut it off. The Polaris CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.0 hours and the Birchwood CAP ground team searched for 2.6 hours and claimed no expenses. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 008 20 Jan 96 (SAR) ANCHORAGE CAP
Mission opened to locate the srouce of an ELT in the Beluga area. Anchorage CAP launched an aircraft and could not pick up the signal. The ELT ceased and the mission closed. Anchorage CAP flew 1 sortie for 1.0 hour. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 009 23 Jan 96 (SAR) FAIRBANKS CAP and EIELSON CAP
Mission opened to locate the source of an ELT in the North Pole area. Fairbanks CAP searched but was unable to locate the ELT. Eielson CAP was then tasked and located the ELT. The Fairbanks CAP searched for 3.0 hours and claimed no expenses. Eielson CAP searched for 1.8 hours and claimed $9.30. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
MSN 011 25 Jan 96 (AST ASSIST) BETHEL CAP
Mission opened to locate an overdue snowmobiler en route from Akiachak to Toksoot Bay. The Bethel CAP responded and while searching, the person was located in the village of Night Mute. The Bethel CAP flew 3 sorties for 8.9 hours. No SAVES or ASSISTS were awarded for this NON-DISTRESS mission.
